The RAF Wickenby Memorial Collection is non-profit making and relies on voluntary effort.

It is our commitment that items donated should be preserved for future generations and should be available for the public to view at the collection. Such items should contribute to the commemoration of all those who served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two and in particular those who served at RAF Wickenby.

The archive material will be used to answer questions about 12 Squadron, 626 Squadron and RAF Wickenby.

The Collection is the official home of the Wickenby Register archive

Visitors Welcome

Visitors are welcome to view the display of artifacts located in the Control Tower at Wickenby Airfield. The upstairs room (please check-in downstairs first please) houses a display of items relating to RAF Wickenby, 12 and 626 Squadrons. A snack bar is open downstairs in the flying school club room where you will receive a warm welcome. Wickenby is an active airfield and home to Fly 365 Flying School and is open 7 days a week. If you would like to speak with a museum volunteer on your visit please email in advance so we can ensure someone will be available to meet with you.

New Developments

A change in ownership of Wickenby Airfield has resulted in a number of developments, including some refurbishment - painting of the Control Tower interior, new carpets throughout, and, a new ceiling and the replacement of broken window panes in the museum room. Indeed, the new owners continue with the commitment to commemorate the history of the airfield and the losses of aircrew during World War Two which former owners Julia Mills and Philip Swan started in 1999.

The available space for displaying the many artifacts collected and donated over the last tens years has been reorganised and the long term prospects for further development is excellent. Additional display cabinets, mannequins etc. are being sought.

A small group of volunteers are working on the development of the collection, including the cataloguing of artifact and archive material. The full list of volunteers are:

Ken Harbour, Ann Law, Julia Mills, Philip Swan.
