The RAF Wickenby Memorial Collection was set up in the late 1990s in commemoration of the men and women of 12 & 626 Squadrons who served at Wickenby during WWII and also 92 & 93 Maintenance Units who were here from 1945 to 1956. The Collection, which is run by a group of dedicated volunteers is situated in the upstairs of the old Control Tower looking out over two of the original runways which are still in use today.

The collection is made up of memorabilia relating to WWII Wickenby and is also the home of the Wickenby Register Archive which includes Operational Record Books, Flying Log Books, Station Diaries, Casualty Records, stories written by the airmen themselves and an extensive photograph collection and many more interesting documents.

Our volunteers are regularly on site and ready to answer any questions or help with research. For further information on research see our Request for Information page.

We are always looking out for new artifacts to put on display and documents and photographs (copies or originals) to add to the archive, if you have anything you feel may be of interest please get in touch.

Unfortunately we have very little information about ground crew personnel either during or after the war which is unfortunate as these men and women played a vital and important role. If you were a ground crew member or you are the relative of a ground crew member please get in touch with name, rank, number & profession, date of service at Wickenby and any other information you may have and we will add the details to the database which we are currently compiling.

The Wickenby Collection is run by volunteers and is funded by donations. Donations can be put into the collection box in the museum or cheques can be made payable to 'The RAF Wickenby Memorial Fund' and posted.
